Maybe you could start a community based compost service where everyone drops off their food scraps into a series of compost bins and then those that donate, get to take too.

A couple of brothers started this in my home town which is only 4500 people and now they little business is huge so maybe you could do something like this on a small scale and you never know how big it could grow....
