Yes, that is so true, but its just as bad when they are constantly bred, to be discarded.
As far as I'm concerned, the only difference between the ugly Puppy factory trade and bird breeding, is that people are far more aware of the horrendous conditions that puppy factories are, than they are of the completely hidden, completely unregulated and ungoverned bird breeding is- and in this hidden practice, is a world of filth, disease and cruelty, when the bird is first bred and then even after adopted, and that is why there are so many non-profits out there like Nikky's that are trying desperately to rehome hundreds of abandoned and relinquished birds.

Not only that, birds can live for decades, so what happens when the owner dies?

I inherited my girly girl when mum died and she was supposed to live till was about 50, but was only 18 when she devastatingly passed a few months ago...😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

But what would have happened to her if she had of lived till she was 50 (I would have been 84), but what would have happened to her if I died before that.

Then she would be totally heartbroken (like I am now) and would have had to go to a 3rd owner, not knowing why. And this is one of the biggest things that people don't think of when they do get birds on a whim.

Not only don't they realise just how messy, noisy, expensive, demanding, time consuming little darlings that they are, they also don't think about the affect on the bird when it has to go through multiple owners and that's not fair on the birds.

Anyway...sorry to rant, but I just wish humans would be far more thoughtful before they acted....
