I wake up every day, thankful for the gifts Mother Nature has bestowed upon humanity. The gifts are so numerous that they are everywhere and accessible to everyone, from the food we eat to the water we drink, the air we breathe, and many more, and for free needless to say.
If all the above are available for free, why do we need to spend money on food? I'm speaking about food because everyone needs it to survive. I have friends who spend exorbitant amounts of money, buying food and bottled water because they claim the waters are better purified.
I strongly disagree, the purest and unadulterated of them all is the pure, raw water that we've been gifted. What's ironic about that is while they drink factory-purified water, some of them still get diagnosed with typhoid. I drink water from the well, tap and of course, rainwater after boiling and so far, I've never had issues resulting from water. I even have a drum to save water as back up. In my friends defense, it's been that way since my childhood, my parents didn't believe in wasting money to buy water since it's all around you. They didn't grow up the way I did so, it's understandable.
I think my upbringing was what strengthened my immune system, and I go scot-free even after drinking almost any kind of water, I'm covered. Trust me, it's true. I've been to remote villages that have terrible water and I survived drinking it.
Since I've solved the problem of spending extra money to buy water, how about food? Even farmers have to buy food, it's unavoidable. I don't like the fact that I have no control over this, but what I do have control over is growing my veggies.
I have a garden at the back of my house that I cultivate myself, so instead of using money to buy vegetables, lettuce, carrots, and a few other choice vegetables, I grow it myself. Apart from it being economical, it's always so fresh and every time I need anything from my garden, it's guaranteed freshness, pulled straight out of the soil, no preservatives, nothing.
I've been able to minimize and save costs on the water I drink and the veggies I use and on the plus side, keep a direct connection to an environmentally friendly lifestyle while doing it the healthiest way.
While everyone is spending outrageous amounts on water and veggies, I don't have to worry cause my environment has got me covered and my immune system is solid.
