Today's word of the day for December 7 is vexillology
So, I noticed today that I've been using lightening instead of lightning. How on earth did I miss that? I'll just stick with the former. Let's just call it one of the spice. I'm sure you'll agree with me.
About today's word, I first heard it on the TV. I was watching this game show. Don't remember which year but I was in high school then. I was tempted to do a little science fiction when I saw it but my literary side won, like always.
Here's what I came up with.
"I love you."
He watched her mouth form the words, watched her lips move as she said them. The sound of her voice, so familiar, so arousing. He raised his fingers to her face. She closed her eyes as he lifted her chin, as he traced her cheek and lips lightly.
"I love you more."
Her eyes flew open, like he knew they would. He knew every contour of her face, had studied them like a vexillologist with the flag. He knew her body too, every inch. God, wanting her was almost painful. He swallowed and captured her lips.
