I recently came across some information that explains, in detail, exactly what a bot is.
This topic of research is very complex and interesting. Bots are basically digital entities that roam the internet doing various tasks they were programmed to do. Some of them have been programmed for more menial tasks such as collecting cookies and website traffic data. However, some programmers have imbued some bots with a more sinister type of programming.
We witnessed this recently at the largest scale ever in history with the recent "wannacry" malware invasion. These bots are meant to grab all of your data and hold it ransom.
Then they display a timer and a message telling you that in order for you to receive your data back, you must pay $300 worth of Bitcoin before the timer runs out, otherwise it will delete your data.
This kind of attack was executed to stop the rise in Bitcoin, in my opinion. Bitcoin was invented to destroy the Governmental and financial systems created by the Banksters/ Cabal/"Illuminati"/"Elite." This cryptocurrency was created to topple the oppressive system seemingly forced upon us every which way we turn. Is there more to this though? Are these people acting in this way due to some unseen force?

I am not saying all bots are bad. Just like with every other thing in life, you have your bad ones, and then you have your good ones. For every negative thing, there is an equal opposite on the other side of the spectrum.
We need to come up with protectors bots that roam around the internet vanquishing negative bots or something lol.
