Succinct and pertinent. Nice. It is my thinking that preventive healthcare will continue to be avoided as long as it is seen as taking money away from the players in the healthcare industry. After all, someone who doesn't have (type 2) diabetes (presumably because that individual has a healthy, self-aware lifestyle that involves eating well, getting plenty of exercise, and avoiding nasty habits such as smoking) isn't going to buy a heckuva lot of insulin. And goodness gracious, if everyone kept him- or herself in top physical condition, what would all those poor insurance leviathans do for kicks? Can't refuse coverage to someone who doesn't ask for it.
