I was yet to be born during the era of the civil war, only people who experienced the war would explain the perplexity of survival in the country.
However, since I was born, I must confess to the fact, that this is the most terrible period of my existence. The constant negative content I see every day is alarming and becoming too much to take in. It is becoming a norm that I must read or view provocative content online every single day. As a matter of fact "WE" are already getting used to these abhorrent contents. Every month seems to come with a bombshell for a surprise package. From Osinachi's case where her husband beat her to death, to Dr. Chinelo to Deborah Samuel for blaspheming the Islamic religion which she was stoned to death on the campus of Sokoto university in Nigeria, and so I sit back and ask myself where is the humanity In us, before we choose the faith or religions to serve, we are first humans,
they is this book I read the author must have been dead right now, he said ‘ the day we stop helping one another is the day we lost our humanity, from what am seeing now we have lost our humanity, if we can kill someone for the sake of religion, for god that we serve, then I think they is no humanity left in us.
It seems like things get worse by the day. It is quite evident that our government might be the most careless among other countries with the same calibers of people in power. The youths are not showing signs of positive evolution. Schools that are meant to teach morals are now breeding grounds for all manners of illicit acts, and unmoral behaviour.
We live in a country where a man would rather gain more power than show responsibility. Money has now replaced "LOVE". Higher institutions are closed, and the labor market is chalked up, with more graduates and less employment. Illiteracy and inhumanity have eaten so deep into our system that we import what we already have, and unproductivity looms in the atmosphere, the educational section has fallen and anyone going to school is seen as if he/she is wasting time. That’s why they say school is scam.
But there is still hope, indeed there is hope. If our fathers survived the war, we pray to survive this pandemic called corruption. The only remedy to this is self-mirroring. We should apply the golden rule ” do to others what you want others to do to you" and LOVE from the very depth of our hearts.
I am a Preacher of LOVE. ✌✌ Peace.
