I'm writing this post not to join in any contest rather, I wanted to inspire newcomers to shift their mind from the harsh world of social media, that has been stealing away our peace and positive outlook in life. By looking into this different platform and devote their time and energy that might paved the way for bigger and brighter future.
Let me give you a throwback to the time I joined Steemit. Steemit is a product of a set back from an online bitcoin trading scammed I joined in. I'm an entrepreneur by heart, so every opportunity that might give me passive income I tend to grab. However, it was a failure and I lose some money. I then decided to study about cryptocurrency and trading, so I could do it on my own. I saw Steemit from a you tube video of @trevonjb (Thank You!), I watched it and got curious if it's real. That same day, I signed up and waited for days to get approved and it started my journey with Steemit.
I remember on my very first post, @surpassinggoogle was the first person who upvoted me and gave me some tips in constructing my content. He also commended me on one of my posts, saying that my content has already improved. I'm grateful for those constructive criticisms, because it pushes me to give my 100%. The same time I realized this is different from facebook and instagram I used to devote my time to.
During those first few weeks and months, I have been updated with my posts. I tried to make informative contents, on the things I like and passionate about. Though, I was still skeptical with the earning part. That time SBD was not even a dollar worth and with the upvotes and rewards I have, it's really not that much. Well of course, we are in the Philippines, 10SBD is still tantamount to Php500. Unfortunately, I have not been visible for almost two months because I have been busy with a new business you can click here to read my post . I wanted badly to write post or even share some of the places we've been to.Apparently, it's difficult when your physical body is so drained with so many things to do and a few hours of sleep was the only thing left to do. I do not want to share content that I didn't have the time to think about, just to earn money. And so I let go of Steemit for quite sometime. It was during the last few days of the holidays, when I'm done with most of my business transactions and the last minute Christmas shopping. I opened my steemit account and posted somethings I wanted to share about some few months ago that I didn't get the chance to do. I was still clueless that the price of SBD has soared high, until I saw it in my feed. I checked coinmarketcap.com and found out it was true. I just couldn't believe it myself as I was skeptical of this, partly. The very reason why I'm writing this post and hope that many new comers will be able to read because finally I'm a living testimony, that Steemit can change our lives.
Just this morning I made my first ever SBD withdrawal! It's just a minuscule SBD however, it was multiplied by $9 and converted in Philippine pesos, enough for a week's budget or so. Wow! where in the world can you find that? Steemit not only is informative, but also a way to make money while doing what you love to do. We spent hours and hours at Facebook looking at our friends pictures and posts. We have been busy looking at their lives, that we tend to forget ours. It has been also a venue for shaming, bashing, and negativity, and we have been hooked with that atmosphere. Sadly, our lives has not change or has it? With Steemit, your feed is full of informative contents it's just your call whether to feed your mind with tons of information available. You get to interact with people all around the world, not just your circle of friends. And most importantly, you get to share your views, opinions, sentiments no holds barred. And the great thing about it You get PAID!
After I encashed it, I treated myself to a coffee break. I think it's right to reward ourselves after doing a great job, we need to be the first person to pat our own backs. By doing so, it pushes us to do more and become more.
I hope this post encourages a lot of you to keep on trying, and making yourself better each day. Yes, we can earn money by posting, but let's not make this platform the likes of Facebook nor Instagram. This is a place to share what you know and your expertise, to show the world what we are worth as a Filipino and as a person. This community is made up of talented individuals, so let us show them the gifts of God. By doing so, we are not only honoring ourselves, our country but most importantly the Creator, in whom all things came from.
Happy Steeming Everyone!
