We all know the casino game, but when you peel back its layers what is poker? Is it just a game? A competition? Something more?
@nicnasPoker brings people together that is a proven fact. People from parts all over the world. People. Together. Truly something special, especially in this world of more and more non-personal interaction. Somehow poker out of all game is still chugging along. Not worried about society, not worried about that next bill you have to pay, just worried about hitting that river.
It's like how somehow hitting an amazing golf shot on the links keeps you coming back even though you bogeyed every freakin hole.
Same with poker. Somehow no matter how long you have missed the game it always brings you back.

Can you imagine going back to you ex after that long? That person you loved so much sometime during your life and nope definitely not going back after 8 years.
Somehow this enigma of a game brings me back.
The only thing I can think of is: community.
Some of the Steemians I consider my friends I met through poker. And for someone who values people; holy smokes is that so incredible to me.
Some card game, not war or political party, is bringing people together. That blows my mind and is an inspiration to me.
Poker is a community. It's not one person, not one thing.
It's a movement and it's moving here on Steemit.
