Red breasted Robin perched on a cable wire,
Chirped notes sung through the gentle breeze,
Can’t help but admire.
Making one’s way, putting me at ease.
Undertaking grassland hedged in by leafless trees,
Grounds entered by man’s best friend,
Soiled boots, geez
But the mongrels don’t mean to offend.
Down on bended knee
Gathering wood on my retreat
Soon to be afternoon tea
Surrounded by heat.
At home reclining
Burning harvested wood, warm feeling,
All set for dining,
Homemade chicken soup, so healing.
