Reseña del torneo semanal de Chess Brothers: Sin miedo a los sacrificios

Este domingo nos tocó encarar nuevamente a los fuertes ajedrecistas de Hive y compartimos con ustedes la reseña deportiva del momento, del puño y letra de los redactores de Chess Brothers: @eniolw y @vjap55.

Podio y clasificación final de la 3^a ronda

Creemos que las partidas se empiezan a poner más fuertes y nos parece que debemos mejorar ciertos aspectos en nuestro juego que nos están haciendo quedar un tanto inferior en momentos críticos del match. Así pues, @vjap55 obtuvo un 8vo lugar que mantiene sus posibilidades vivas de cara a los resultados finales, por lo que las cosas no estuvieron tan malas para él tampoco en esta tercera ronda.

Sin embargo, también hay aspectos que son meramente cuestión de suerte. Esto le pasó a @eniolw, quien estaba desempeñándose normalmente en el torneo, pero a mitad del camino experimentó problemas técnicos que le imposibilitaron continuar, por lo que tuvo que conformarse con los puntos que acumuló hasta ese momento y que le permitieron ocupar el 10mo lugar al final.

La sorpresa del evento fue @lucianosky (mejor conocido como Pavarotty en Lichess), pues en esta oportunidad logró el gran salto y se ubicó en la cúpisde del podio, imponiendo su maestría sobre el tablero. Más abajo mostraremos una demostración de su juego. ¡Felicidades por tremendo logro!

Supimos que @lucianosky está en estos mismos momentos participando en los Juegos Nacionales de Venezuela, representando a su estado. Esperemos que el fogueo que tuvo gracias a los torneos de #hivechess le ayuden mucho en esa competencia fundamental.

Volviendo al torneo, destacamos también la actuación de @samostically y @tony1294 y quienes definitivamente conquistaron sus posiciones hombro a hombro con el campeón, pues están separados por tan solo un punto.

Por cierto, llama la atención que con esta se completan dos válidas consecutivas en las que @tungphong no logra rozar los primeros puestos. Nos gusta pensar que esto confirma la increíble competitividad presente en el campeonato, donde todos quieren puntuar y donde los favoritos no pueden hacerse con las suyas siempre.

El ritmo de juego empleado en esta válida fue Blitz 3+0, un control bastante ajustado que incrementa la posibilidad de cometer errores, pues ¡no hay incremento! Al ser un margen de tiempo súper reducido, las posiciones suelen salirse de control en los apuros. Para bien o para mal es la opción preferida por la comunidad en la encuesta semanal.

El domingo continuaremos con la acción ajedrecista y con ello estaremos alcanzando el ecuador del evento. Aún la tabla está en proceso de cambio, pues la lucha sobre el tablero es intensa. Así que dejaremos que evolucione un poco más para analizarla en detalle en otro reportaje.

¡El sacrificio del día!

El subcampeón @samostically, quien maneja las piezas blancas aquí y posee un estilo bastante osado, quizo invadir los terrenos del rey enemigo a base de sacrificios, pero @lucianosky es un maestro de la táctica y todos los intentos de las blancas simplemente se vieron difuminados por la increíble habilidad de cálculo y solidez que Luciano emplea en sus juegos. Veamos un ejemplo:

Las blancas acaban de lanzarse con 16. Axg6!?, un sacrificio que no es malo pero que tampoco resulta ser lo más efectivo en esta posición, pues se podría haber optado por otras continuaciones que tal vez incrementarian la ligera ventaja. No obstante, viendo el reducido tiempo de reflexión, estas entregas materiales tienen un porcentaje aceptable de éxito. En cualquier caso la posición resultante es complicada.

Las negras no lo piensan dos veces y aceptan el desafío, y tras las secuencias forzadas 16... hxg6 17. Dxg6 Ag7 18. Ah6 Dd7 las cosas se ponen poco claras. Las blancas insisten con 19. Cd5 y tras 19... Ce5 parece que las blancas tenian la jugada fuerte 20. Dg5 un detalle muy sútil, ya que se amenza Ce7+ obstruyendo la defensa sobre el punto g7 y con eso las blancas darían mate.

Se tendría que jugar la única 20... Rh7 donde las blancas obtienen ventaja Con Axg7 seguido de Cf6+. Esta posible variante era muy difícil de ver en la partida por toda la presión existente en un match. @Samostically jugó la humana 20. Dg3 y con esto las aguas siguen turbulentas, pero las negras tienen más chances. Siguió 20... Cf5 21. Db3 para seguir con la presión, pero las negras encuentran una ruta ventajosa.

Tras 21... Rh8 22. Axg7+ Dxg7 y las negras conservan la pieza de más, al mismo tiempo que el ataque de las blancas está neutralizado y el segundo jugador logró concretar el punto sin problemas.

Magistral defensa empleada por el ganador del evento. Nos está pareciendo súper interesante ver que en esos momentos críticos él está aplicando la tenacidad propia de su defensa predilecta que es la Petrov. Esto por supuesto realza la conexión entre la preparación teórica y el estilo de juego.

Chess Brothers Weekly Tournament Review: No fear of sacrificing

This Sunday we faced again the strong chess players of Hive and we share with you the sports review of the moment, in the handwriting of the editors of Chess Brothers: @eniolw and @vjap55.

We believe that the games are starting to get stronger and it seems to us that we must improve certain aspects in our game that are making us be somewhat inferior in critical moments of the match. So, @vjap55 got an 8th place that keeps his chances alive for the final results, so things were not so bad for him in this third round either.

However, there are also aspects that are purely a matter of luck. This happened to @eniolw, who was performing normally in the tournament, but halfway through he experienced technical problems that made it impossible for him to continue, so he had to settle for the points he had accumulated up to that point and which allowed him to occupy 10th place in the end.

The surprise of the event was @lucianosky (better known as Pavarotty in Lichess), because this time he achieved the great leap and stood at the top of the podium, imposing his mastery over the board. Below we will show a demonstration of his game, congratulations for his tremendous achievement!

We learned that @lucianosky is at this very moment participating in the National Games of Venezuela, representing his state. Let's hope that the exposure he had thanks to the #hivechess tournaments will help him a lot in that fundamental competition.

Returning to the tournament, we also highlight the performance of @samostically and @tony1294 and who definitely conquered their positions shoulder to shoulder with the champion, as they are separated by only one point.

By the way, it is noteworthy that with this one we have completed two consecutive races in which @tungphong has not managed to touch the top positions. We like to think that this confirms the incredible competitiveness present in the championship, where everyone wants to score and where the favorites can not always get away with it.

The time control used in this round was Blitz 3+0, a very tight control that increases the possibility of making mistakes, because there is no increment! Being a super tight time margin, positions tend to get out of control in the rushes. For better or worse it is the preferred option by the community in the weekly poll.

On Sunday we will continue with the chess action and with it we will be reaching the halfway point of the event. The table is still in the process of changing, as the fight on the board is intense. So we will let it evolve a little more to analyze it in detail in another report.

The sacrifice of the day!

The runner-up @samostically, who handles the white pieces here and has a rather daring style, wanted to invade the enemy king's grounds with sacrifices, but @lucianosky is a master of tactics and all of White's attempts were simply blurred by the incredible ability of calculation and solidity that Luciano employs in his games. Let's see an example:

White has just launched with 16. Bxg6!?, a sacrifice that is not bad but which is not the most effective in this position, since one could have opted for other continuations that would perhaps increase the slight advantage. However, considering the reduced amount of time for reflection, these material sacrifices have an acceptable percentage of success. In any case, the resulting position is complicated.

Black doesn't think twice and accepts the challenge, and after the forced sequences 16...hxg6 17.Qxg6 Bg7 18.Bh6 Qd7 things get unclear. White insists with 19. Nd5 and after 19... Ne5 it seems that White had the strong move 20. Qg5 a very subtle detail, since Ne7+ is threatened by obstructing the defense on the g7 point and with that White would mate.

The unique move 20...Kh7 would have to be made where White gains advantage with Bxg7 followed by Nf6+. This possible variation was very difficult to see in the game due to all the pressure in a match. @Samostically played the human move 20. Qg3 and with this the waters are still rough, but Black has more chances. It went on 20...Nf5 21.Qb3 to keep up the pressure, but Black finds an advantageous route.

After 21...Kh8 22.Bxg7+ Qxg7 and Black keeps the extra piece, at the same time White's attack is neutralized and the second player managed to make the point without problems.

Masterful defense used by the winner of the event. We are finding it super interesting to see that in those critical moments he is applying the tenacity of his favorite defense which is the Petrov. This of course enhances the connection between theoretical preparation and playing style.
