Fola couldn't contain the excitement of going to Rivers state, all preparations for her leaving was set in motion. Fola's mum bought everything needed for camp ranging for canvas, shorts, t-shirts, socks, provisions and even bought extra. She doesn't want her daughter getting stranded In a strange land. Fola although quite excited was still very much unsure of coping with staying thousands of miles apart from her beloved mother, she kept convincing herself all will be well.
Fola is the last baby in a family 6(father, mother and 4kids) and is loved by all. She loved singing and always get teased of winning a singing award, wanting to pursue a career in either acting or singing but her mother wouldn't have any of it. She wanted all her children to go for science courses. Fola could be said to be a prodigy always being on top of her class, goes for various competitions and win various awards. She was admitted to the senior secondary school at a very tender age and she performed excellently but things fell apart when she lost her father, a once brilliant child turned someone who only makes pass in class overnight, developed a carefree and lackadaisical attitude towards life but. She mourned her loss differently!!!
The D-day came, Fola all packed and ready for her journey to South South woke up as early as 4:30am to get herself prepared for the long journey ahead, perused through her already packed luggage to ensure none was missing, by 5:30am she knelt down to receive prayers and blessing from her mother and grandmother which dragged for 30min. By 6am she was driven to the park where she wept like a child as the bus was drove off because she already missed her mother and home. The journey lasted for 12hours leaving Fola tired and hungry; she got to camp, collected her entry card located her bed, had her shower and slept off so she could wake up early to for the next day's task.
