In today's battle of interest, Quix goes up against Mylor Crowling. Mylor is a popular summoner for players to rent to climb quickly out of Bronze League after EOS reset. Make sure you check what your opponent has been using, and if you see Mylor your first thought should be ranged! Here I used Quix and Djinn Chwala because I have them, but this would have worked with General Sloan and Shieldbearer, and Xenith Archer in place of Naga Assassin.
Ranged works better than magic as Mylor will usually have Unicorn Mustang in the front row, who takes reduced magic damage. In this case with the double strike from Pelacor Arbalest and all the damage from the rest of the team, Mustang didn't stand a chance and was down before the slow healers could save him. With Sloan and Shieldbearer instead of Quix and Chwala the extra ranged damage replaces Chwala's Thorns.
With the Unicorn gone, Mylor's back line had no chance and were all gone except Uraeus in the next round.
When you see that your opponent is using Mylor, remember that Thorns only work against melee. Life splinter won't always be available, but be creative with non-melee troops and you can find ways to beat him.
