Nuevamente me uno a ustedes, está vez para contarles un poco sobre nuestra hermosa iglesia Santa Inés y sobre la tradición que aún existe en esta en la procesión del bello Nazareno en Semana Santa. Se que ya está fecha pasó, pero no había tenido las oportunidad de contarles.
Once again I join you, this time to tell you a little about our beautiful church Santa Inés and about the tradition that still exists in the procession of the beautiful Nazarene in Holy Week. I know that this date has already passed, but I had not had the opportunity to tell you about it.
Como bien sabemos, nuestra bella iglesia Santa Inés, tiene muchísimos años e incluso es una de las más antiguas de nuestra ciudad de Cumaná. Ésta fué restaurada hace mucho tiempo, aproximadamente en el año 1853 y está ubicada en el casco histórico de nuestra hermosa ciudad, en el barrio San Francisco, justo al lado de las ruinas del castillo Santa María de la Cabeza.
As we well know, our beautiful church Santa Inés is very old and even one of the oldest in our city of Cumaná. It was restored a long time ago, approximately in 1853 and is located in the historic center of our beautiful city, in the San Francisco neighborhood, right next to the ruins of the castle Santa Maria de la Cabeza.

Ahora bien, en nuestra ciudad de celebra la semana Santa desde siempre y con ella vienen las diferentes procesiones en recordatorio a todo lo que paso Jesucristo antes de su crucifixión.
Now, in our city the Holy Week has always been celebrated and with it come the different processions in remembrance of all that Jesus Christ went through before his crucifixion.
En esta iglesia, desde que tengo uso de razón han salido estás procesiones y junto con estás se han dado misas en las cuales el padre que se encuentre termina bendiciendonos a todos. Pero una de las misas y procesiones más nombradas es la del Nazareno.
In this church, for as long as I can remember these processions have gone out and along with them there have been masses in which the priest who is there ends up blessing us all. But one of the most famous masses and processions is that of the Nazarene.
Lo que el Nazareno representa es el recorrido que hizo Jesús vestido de color morado hacia el lugar de su crucifixión, este recorrido lo hizo cargando en su espalda una muy pesada cruz de madera, que según nuestra creencia católica, representa el peso nuestros pecados.
What the Nazarene represents is the journey that Jesus made dressed in purple to the place of his crucifixion, this journey was made carrying on his back a very heavy wooden cross, which according to our Catholic belief, represents the weight of our sins.
Este año en la iglesia Santa Inés de Cumaná, se realizó una misa en conmemoración a este momento en la cual asistieron muchas personas, dónde destacaban en su mayoría niños vestidos con batas de color morado 🟣, al igual que abuelitas vistiendo del mismo color.
This year in the church Santa Inés de Cumaná, a mass was held in commemoration of this moment in which many people attended, where mostly children dressed in purple robes 🟣 stood out, as well as grandmothers wearing the same color.
También, hubo en esta un gran equipo policial custodiando dicho lugar y que el orden se mantuviera, haciendo de este momento algo tranquilo dónde se pudiera disfrutar con mucha paz la misa.
There was also a large police team guarding this place and that order was maintained, making this a quiet moment where the mass could be enjoyed in peace.
En cuanto a la figura de Jesús, debo decir que estaba muy hermoso, fue adornado con hermosas flores pero resaltando siempre la belleza de dicha figura.
As for the figure of Jesus, I must say that it was very beautiful, it was adorned with beautiful flowers but always highlighting the beauty of the figure.
Una vez concluida la misa, se procedió a bajar de la iglesia y comenzar el recorrido por algunas calles de la ciudad, haciendo parada en otra de nuestras bellas iglesias, La Catedral, dónde también se dió una mini misa y se bendijo a todos para poder continuar y concluir nuevamente en nuestra iglesia Santa Inés.
Once the mass was concluded, we proceeded to leave the church and started the tour through some streets of the city, stopping at another of our beautiful churches, the Cathedral, where we also had a mini mass and blessed everyone to continue and conclude again in our church Santa Inés.
A lo que me voy con todo esto es que a pesar del tiempo transcurrido y de que anteriormente por la pandemia que nos azotó no habíamos podido realizar este tipo de cosas, las personas y sobre todo nuestras iglesias mantienen presente la esencia de estos días y nos siguen ofreciendo a nosotros los creyentes hermosas misas y conmemoraciones de estos días. Y esta iglesia, que ha pasado por tanto, con su nueva restauración de hace unos pocos años, sigue brindándonos lo mejor de si para seguir con nuestras creencias y tradiciones.
What I am going with all this is that despite the time that has passed and that previously because of the pandemic that hit us we had not been able to do this kind of things, people and especially our churches keep present the essence of these days and continue to offer us believers beautiful masses and commemorations of these days. And this church, which has gone through so much, with its new restoration a few years ago, continues to give us the best of itself to continue with our beliefs and traditions.
Y bueno, les tengo que contar que aunque no pude culminar el recorrido como me hubiese gustado, disfrute mucho el volver a asistir a este tipo de cosas y ahora con mi hija, que por cierto fue el motivo por el que no pude hacer el recorrido ya que ella quería ir a su parque 🤭🤦🏻♀️.
And well, I have to tell you that although I could not finish the tour as I would have liked, I really enjoyed going to this kind of things again and now with my daughter, which by the way was the reason why I could not do the tour because she wanted to go to her park 🤭🤦🏻♀️.
