School was never meant to create thinkers, just obedient workers who will do enough and question less so they can be tax'd, it's not the responsibility of institutions to educate people, but themselves. If you are going to outsource your education then you have to accept the limitations of it, we've just made it the norm. I agree the deprogramming takes a while and it's something I think of often, and trust me it goes deeper than many of us know, we are all holding on to fallacies that have been drilled into our head
