It's time for #metalweekend. It's as hot as hell in Hanoi, so I don't want to go out. Time to crank up the volume and rock out to my metal favorites of the 2000s. Interestingly, all three songs were released in 2000.
Iron Maiden - Wicker Man (2000)
Bruce Dickinson and Adrian Smith returned to the band in 1999. The album Brave New World was their first project back. You can hear classic Maiden here along with a modern tinge.
Helloween - Mr. Torture (2000)
Helloween was awesome in the 80s with their great German power metal. They fell off in the 90s, but The Dark Ride got me interested in them again. Still pretty heavy.
Nevermore - Inside Four Walls (2000)
I remember Nevermore being a not very good grunge band in the 90s. This band was pretty forgettable until Warrel Dane starting tapping into his real life tragedy to make songs that were a bit harder and a bit darker. Check out their album, Dead Heart in a Dead World.
Enjoy your metal weekend. I'll be in the aircon, drinking cold ones, and rocking out.
