I saw this prompt and almost immediately had a long list of popular statements cloud up my head space. A good number of them, I do not agree with. And, by this post, I really wish I could share just one statement and move on, but I don't think that would be possible, so bear with me and see them from my viewpoint.

One of such popular statements that does not sit well with me is "Practice makes perfect." I don't know why, but every time that I hear this, I keep mouthing it and rolling it over in my head, trying to make it make sense to me(if you get me). I mean, I understand that to learn and gain mastery of something, one needs to practice on that thing over and again.
But then, when you practice and say, you keep doing things a certain way(maybe the wrong way), you don't get to get better, you only get to keep doing it that way over and again.
I feel like "Practice makes habit" is a more apt way to describe the statement. Cause, if you practiced the wrong way, it wouldn't fix the fact that you are doing it wrong. It will only get you more used to doing it wrong. Does that make sense?
Another one of such statements that I don't agree with is, "Money doesn't buy happiness." Now, listen to me. I've come to see that the people who say this are either rich and always have been and maybe have no idea how stuff works for those in the lower class of the economic ladder but are somehow just trying to be relatable and/or those who have troubles thar their money cant fix.
Sure we can all probably agree that money won't magically make someone happy and make all of our problems go away but we know that it will make our lives a whole lot easier because we'l never have to worry about money.
See, do you even know how just the thought of not having to worry about how/if I'd be able to sort my bills, or if I'd be able to afford all I ever want, or not even having to do too many mental calculations before I can spend on this/that brings relief and lightness to me now? Just the imagination of being able to afford to do things that make me happy with the people I value most and give us all the best is filling.
Money doesn't buy happiness, of course, but as someone whose major issues are tied around finance, this can be difficult to just agree with.
Cause, although longterm happiness is fleeting and money is likely to cause temporary happiness, too, which may be most attributed to the occasions and better lifestyle that is attainable yet the absence of money is a lot worse.
I mean, maybe being rich isn't the secret to happiness, but money does help.
There are a number of other statements beyond these thar i don't flow with but these ones top.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
