I bought this for menstrual cramps when I saw an ad for Livia and found out that it was just a girly version of a TENS unit. There was a lightning deal on this, and it also had many more modes than other units, so why not? Here are some quick pros/cons on the unit itself:
Pros:
It has an excellent slim profile. It's about the size of an iPod nano and can be easily hidden in a pocket. This was a requirement for me as I plan to use it at work and not have people notice it.
Lots of settings to customize what you want
2 ports so you can target two areas at once
Comes with a pad holder that doubles as a cable organizer
Cons:
Battery seems to need to hold a charge better between periods. Since I only use it for period pain, it's left unused for about three weeks. Last month I fully charged it before setting it aside. At the start of my next cycle, I decided to charge it again before use and noticed that the battery had been completely drained already. Most newer devices hold a charge over long periods of no use, so the battery on this probably isn't that great. Not a big deal, but we'll see it in a year or two.
There are a lot of modes but only a little explanation of them. They have recommendations on which methods are more effective for which areas, but I wish there were a summary of each mode's intended purpose.
Pads seem like they will only last for a while. However, the adhesive on my first set is getting less tacky, and I've only used it maybe five times. They should be compatible with other brands that use a push-button connection, so it should be easy to replace.
This Tenker tens unit is worth purchasing for this price point. I definitely recommend! 💯
