Having a supportive partner is a blessing. Someone who will be in the first row of the audience, clapping at every achievement you get. And I hope my partner feels the same about me whenever I give my full support at every basketball game he plays. I am his forever number one fan, just like how they had faced off in the Mayor's Cup 2026 Championship Game.
We got to the court early, and the whole gymnasium was filled with audiences and supporters of each team. I watched my partner walk toward his teammates, and they planned their play for the championship game. Then it started with my partner on the jump ball, the first throw of the ball for the opposing team.
The game started, and I sat courtside to show my full support. We had some balloons, and I dressed up well for this final match. Yes, I wore an extravagant pair of white earrings too. Though it looked a little too much, my partner didn't mind and just told me to wear them anyway. He's also supportive of how I dress up and style myself.
After hours of gameplay, crowds fighting through cheering chants, and players giving their best shots, we got this year's champions. My partner's team brought home the bacon, which they truly deserve for their teamwork and scoring. I gave my partner the time to celebrate with his teammates, and they started taking pictures together. They even did the trend where they threw the ball and jumped while pointing at it in the air.
A lot of people wanted to take pictures with them, so I waited on the side of the court until they were done before I got to congratulate the love of my life. While waiting, I overheard the committee announcing the player of the game for tonight, and it was my partner. I felt prouder at that point. They asked him for a photo, since they would be posting it on a Facebook page.
After that, he walked towards me, and that's when I congratulated him for bringing out all his best for the game. He earned the player of the game award! Of course, I will never forget taking a picture with him after the game. Here's my love with his bright smile after winning the championship game.
