My name is Chanelle, it's very nice to meet you all.
I was born in San Jose, California 20 years ago. (it'll be 21 in November) It wasn鈥檛 until 2009 when I moved to Tracy, California. During high school, I was part of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) for a good four years.
When I first enrolled in community college in fall 2014, I took graphic arts classes at first because I had a habit of drawing and I wanted to make a living out of it. Then I realized that graphic arts wasn鈥檛 for me. I would say I鈥檓 a creative person, but maybe not in that form.
Writing was something I always did, I always liked it. I saw journalism on the course list one day and gave it a shot.
Now I鈥檓 currently an editor for San Joaquin Delta College鈥檚 newspaper staff, The Collegian, which I鈥檓 very happy to be part of. I help come up with story ideas, edit stories and (of course) write them. I also create, design and edit pages.
In the future I hope to transfer over to Sac State with a major in journalism.
In my immediate family, I'm the oldest child. My sister, (who basically looks like my twin to, or so I have been told) is three years younger than me. We like to go on a lot of day trips and I'm usually the one taking all the photos, which I don't really mind.
I also have a cousin that I've known all my life. His name is Jherell and he's on here somewhere. Check out his stuff guys, it's really cool. He took this shot which was cool because I've always wanted to do one like this.
I鈥檓 also active on social media, so if you ever want to find me there should be some links somewhere on here.
Oh, here they are:
I鈥檓 also an amateur photographer. I like taking photos because it tells people a story. Much like writing of course, just without the words. There's also a certain aesthetic I get from looking at photography that I can't really explain. I have a separate Instagram account right here for my photography, although my personal account has some as well.
I'm nowhere near professional but I like to think of myself as very decent.
Here's some of my (mostly) recent photos.
As you can tell, I'm drawn to nature and food but if you look on my Instagram, my sister and best friend are nice to photograph as well.
Whenever people ask me to tell them about myself, I never know what to say. Hopefully, this covers enough.
So to finish off--
