I AM CALM, this is exactly how I feel when I return to this spot. Because this is where I grew up, a quaint town with a population of 609. I remember visiting this particular area as a child when experiencing a bad day, with the calm water, beautiful weeping willow tree and the freshness of the country, is my go to for the good feeling I would get. As a child I heard about message in a bottle. So, I did just that, yes in this small creek. A nice lady returned my bottle to me, it was so neat to have this happen. Oh, living in a small town everyone knew everyone, that’s how she knew to return it to me, due including my name.
I always wanted to raise my children in a small town as I did to experience things such as fishing and able to walk the neighborhood in no fear. Well, as we all know times have changed, unfortunately, but I did raise them in a small town with a slightly higher population. I did allow them to experience fishing but not so much of being able to walk our neighborhood without fear. What happen to us as a collective? How can we do as individuals change this for our children?
