A bit of stress. But I knew someone who knew just where it was, so I didn't panic. No crisis of my innermost being.
My phone, I'm sure just like yours, is a huge part of my life infrastructure. Calendar, phone book, communication, research, and even parts of my work - all live through my phone. So losing it is a huge deal.
But, like I said, no crisis. And there is a good reason for this. No matter how lost it was, I knew that I had access to the knowledge of where it was.
and calmly set out checking locations. And as I looked on my desk, in the bathroom, in the staff area, in the adjusting rooms, in my car, in my jacket pockets - I kept getting the impression that I had dropped it in the snow.
Finally, I took the hint, and walked out where I had, on my way to snow-blowing my father-in-law's driveway, stepped into my car. And sure enough, I saw a hint of black under a packed layer of snow.
Reaching into the tire track, breaking the packed layer away, I lifted my phone free.
I'm glad I'm on a first name basis with the Holy Spirit, who knows all things, and is all too willing and happy to share them, if I will just take the time to listen.
I'm grateful for hope. For faith. For lost things found.
Can you be grateful for gratitude?
