Hello to all my dear friends who love arts and crafts! Today I want to share some ideas for a children's party using recycled materials.

My daughter will be turning 1 soon. But due to the restrictions to leave the house because of the #covid-19, I had to use the materials I had on hand to make the decorative ornaments and the piñata.

The theme I chose to decorate for my baby's first year is a ladybug.

Here is the step by step instructions on how to make the decorative chains and the piñata.

Materials for the chains:

🐞Recycling sheets.
🐞Watercolors
🐞Water
🐞An old toothbrush
🐞A spoonful of cornstarch and white glue
🐞Scissors

-The first thing to do is to sparkle the paper on the clean side, so take the old toothbrush and moisten it with water, load it with watercolor (I used red, but you can use the color you prefer) and with the help of a pencil or your finger start to sparkle the paper.

-Let it dry for 10 minutes.

-Once we have the paper sparkled, we proceed to cut strips. 3 to 4 strips come out of each white sheet, depending on the thickness you want.

-To glue, we prepare a paste that is much more resistant than the white glue. In 2 tablespoons of cold water dissolve the cornstarch and when it has no lumps, mix it with 2 tablespoons of boiling water to form a gelatinous cream, add a splash of white glue and mix well.

-Join the ends of the chains with the paste and form a chain, I made 2 chains of 15 links each.

Materials for the piñata:

🐞Flexible cardboard
🐞Scissors
🐞A round mold, plate or lid
🐞Plastic bags
🐞Needle and thread
🐞Pencil
🐞silicone
🐞Ladybug drawings

-First we cut 2 round pieces with the help of the mold and a long strip that covers the circle.

-With paste we are going to join the strip to the circles, one first and the other after.

-It should look like a big cardboard bag.

-We cut strips of the plastic bags and we are going to make the balls with the thread and the needle.

-Once we have the balls we proceed to glue them on one side of the piñata (I did not have enough plastic so I cut a circle of sheets of paper and glued it first and only the contour I could cover with plastic.

-Finally we glued the ladybug drawings with glue.

And ready, it is very easy to make our own ornaments. Cheer up!

Hola a todos mis queridos amigos amantes de las artes manuales! Hoy quiero compartir unas ideas para una fiesta infantil utilizando materiales de reciclaje.

Mi hija cumplirá su primer año próximamente. Pero debido a las restricciones para salir de casa por consecuencia de la #covid-19, he tenido que utilizar los materiales que tenia a la mano para hacer los adornos decorativos y la piñata.

El tema que escogí para decorar este primer año de mi bebé es una mariquita.

Aquí les dejo el paso a paso de como elaborar cadenetas decorativas y la piñata.

Materiales para las cadenetas:

🐞Hojas de reciclaje
🐞Acuarelas
🐞Agua
🐞Un cepillo de dientes viejo
🐞Una cucharada de maicena y pegamento blanco
🐞Tijera

-Lo primero que debemos hacer es chispear el papel por el lado que este limpio, así que tomamos el cepillo viejo y lo humedecemos con agua, cargamos de acuarela (yo utilice color rojo, pero puedes usar el color que prefieras) y con ayuda de un lápiz o con tu dedo empezamos a chispear el papel.

-Dejamos secar por 10 minutos.

-Una vez que tenemos el papel chispeado, procedemos a cortar tiras. de cada hoja blanca salen de 3 a 4 tiras, depende del grosor que quieras.

-Para pegar, preparamos un engrudo que es mucho mas resistente que el pegamento blanco. En 2 cucharadas de agua fría disolvemos la maicena y cuando no tenga grumos se mezcla con 2 cucharadas de agua hirviendo para que se forme una crema gelatinosa, agregamos un chorrito de pegamento blanco y mezclamos bien.

-Unimos las puntas de las cadenetas con el engrudo y vamos formando una cadena, yo hice 2 cadenetas de 15 eslabones cada una.

Materiales para la piñata:

🐞Cartón flexible
🐞Tijera
🐞Un molde redondo, plato o tapa
🐞Bolsas de plástico
🐞Aguja e hilo
🐞Lápiz
🐞silicón
🐞Dibujos de mariquita

-Primero cortamos 2 piezas redondas con ayuda del molde y una tira larga que abarque el circulo

-Con engrudo vamos a unir la tira a los círculos, uno primero y otro después.

-Debe quedar como una bolsa grande de cartón.

-Cortamos tiras de las bolsas de plástico y vamos a hacer bolados con el hilo y la aguja.

-Una vez que tengamos los bolados procedemos a pegarlos en una de las caras de la piñata (yo no tenia suficiente plástico así que corté un circulo de hojas de papel y lo pegué primero y solo el contorno pude cubrir con plástico.

-Por ultimo pegamos con engrudo los dibujos de mariquita.

Y listo, es muy sencillo realizar nuestros propios adornos. Anímate!
