¡Saludos amigos amantes de las artes manuales! Les doy la bienvenida una vez más a mi taller Bricolaje DC, en esta oportunidad comenzaremos a trabajar con la técnica de pixel art para darle vida a un personaje del juego War of Clans y su escenografía.

Todo comenzó con una conversación con mis amigos. Uno de ellos le gusta mucho esta técnica y me sugirió hacer unos dibujos, así que tenía pensado ir a la papelería por materiales para comenzar, pero dijo las palabras mágicas: te reto a hacerlo con la mano izquierda. No puedo resistirme a un reto, aunque sea debo intentarlo y esta vez no fue la excepción.

Mandé a mi mamá con 4$ a la papelería de la ciudad y me compró una bonita libreta de 100 hojas cuadriculadas que costó 0.5$ y con el restante del dinero me trajo marcadores punta fina de 0.3$ cada uno. Los colores me encantan son brillantes y la tinta sale uniformemente que es lo importante.

Para ser al Orco, necesitaremos 2 marcadores en tonos diferentes de color verde, marcador color negro y marcador color marrón. Para la escenografía necesitamos marcadores de color amarillo, azul, naranja y rojo.

Practicing with the left hand

Greetings friends who love handicrafts! I welcome you once again to my workshop Bricolaje DC, this time we will start working with the technique of pixel art to give life to a character of the game War of Clans and its scenery and then create a small gif.

It all started with a conversation with my friends. One of them really likes this technique and suggested me to make some drawings, so I was planning to go to the stationery store for materials to start, but he said the magic words: I dare you to do it with your left hand. I can't resist a challenge, even if I have to try and this time it was no exception.

I sent my mom with $4 to the stationery store in town and she bought me a nice notebook with 100 gridded sheets that cost $0.5 and with the rest of the money she brought me fine tip markers for $0.3 each. I love the colors they are bright and the ink comes out evenly which is the important thing.

To be the Orc, we will need 2 markers in different shades of green, black marker and brown marker. For the scenery we need yellow, blue, orange and red markers.

Lo primero es hacer el patrón con el marcador negro. Consiste, como todo dibujo, en hacer un contorno de color negro para hacer el dibujo. Me gusta marcar con un puntito cada cuadro que voy a pintar, así se me hace más sencillo.

The first thing to do is to make the pattern with the black marker. It consists, like all drawing, in making a black outline to make the drawing. I like to mark with a little dot each square that I am going to paint, so it is easier for me.

Un ejemplo podría ser un árbol para la escenografía. Luego de hacer el contorno con el marcador de color negro, vamos a procer a rellenar.

An example could be a tree for the scenery. After making the outline with the black marker, we will proceed to fill.

Utilizar la guía de la hoja cuadriculada hace que todo sea más sencillo.

Una vez que hacemos algunos elementos para ambientar la escena del Orco, como un par de árboles, nubes, el sol, arbusto y casas, vamos a hacer el Orco.

Utilizar la mano izquierda siendo diestra me resulto un poco complicado. Pero es bueno hacer este tipo de ejercicio. Yo por ejemplo, tengo una discapacidad en mi brazo derecho y muchas veces por alguna crisis de dolor me hace estar lejos de mi taller y si tengo la facilidad de apoyarme con la mano izquierda me ayudaría a superar esos momentos porque me encanta hacer manualidades.

Using the grid sheet guide makes everything easier.

Once we make some elements to set the scene of the Orc, like a couple of trees, clouds, the sun, bush and houses, we are going to make the Orc.

Using the left hand being right handed I found it a bit tricky. But it is good to do this kind of exercise. I for example, I have a disability in my right arm and many times because of some pain crisis makes me be away from my workshop and if I have the facility to support me with my left hand it would help me to overcome those moments because I love to do crafts.

Una vez que tenemos el contorno de nuestro amigo Orco, vamos a rellenar. Los 2 tonos diferentes de verde es para jugar un poco con el color y hacerlo más llamativo, propio de la técnica de pixel art.

Once we have the outline of our Orc friend, let's fill in. The 2 different shades of green is to play a little with the color and make it more striking, typical of the pixel art technique.

Luego de tener todas nuestras figuras pintadas, vamos a recortar.

After we have all our figures painted, we are going to cut them out.

Esta técnica es muy sencilla y puede servir perfectamente de práctica para ejercitar ambas manos en las manualidades. Me sentí muy bien realizando este trabajo, sobre todo porque es un reto desbloqueado 😊👍🏼.

This technique is very simple and can serve perfectly as practice for exercising both hands in crafts. I felt very good doing this work, especially because it is an unlocked challenge 😊👍🏼.
