One day while trying to locate this place on Google Maps, my friend and I discovered something we thought to be very fascinating.
Do you see the face?
No? How about now?
Surely now!
Not convinced that it is a face? Perhaps viewing in 3-D perspective will do the trick!
Does 110m x 90m approximate size qualify as "huge"?
We agreed that the face was feline. He said Puma, I said Jaguar.
None of the locals who saw my screenprints had any knowledge of this geoglyph.
Its existence is no accident, and what follows is solid evidence to support this idea.

See the pyramid mound (large Circle) just across the road from our greenhouse (Rectangle)?
Eventually I named it the Templo Mayor.
In this video I provided the compass directions of the photos to come.
Here are some of the lesser mounds (3 Triangles) 200-300 meters downhill towards the river.
Then there is the Altar of Sacrifice, (small hexagon) located in front of what is normally a natural spring, but which is occasionally consumed by the river during the rainy seasons.
My suspicion is that the surface of the Altar is a representation of the Sun, Moon, and important constellations.
The place in next photos is not on the reference map, but is mentioned in the posted video. It is known locally as La Poza Azul, or The Blue Spring. It is located 800-1000 meters to the north of the Templo Mayor.
So then the question remains, "Who were these people?"
There is no doubt in my mind that it was the Olmec culture.
You know, the one best known for these:
They were known to have inhabited this area, however the center of their culture is generally accepted to have been 300km to the south.
But the most significant aspect is that the Jaguar is central to the Olmec spiritual cosmology!
The Templo Mayor is owned in parts by three people, and the one who has this portion is selling the calcium carbonate material from which this mound was constructed.
The obvious question is, "Why would he do that?"
The unfortunate answer is, "Because he is poor, and has to eat."
So what can we do to stop this destruction?
The only answer is to purchase the land from him.
To be honest, I have no idea how much he would ask, but it could cost anywhere between $10-30K USD, depending on how the negotiation might go.
So I ask, who's in on a crowdfund?
