As many people were put off by the decision of Splinterlands to remove the option to purchase quest potions with credits so was I.

I'm only a newb playing into my second season of Splinterlands and I certainly don't know all the reasons behind pulling the plug on this option but I'm going to assume it was the right thing to do for the game.

But, as a newb I will say that it has completely changed my approach to the game. It took me around 2 years to be compelled enough by the game to sit down and work my way through the instructions that had previously overwhelmed me. I just couldn't figure out the game when it started and I moved on.

Obviously all the buzz on Hive brought me back and when I saw so many joining the game I wanted to be part of it. It was hard and only luck got me through my daily quests but learning about the quest potions made it worth it. I wanted rewards cards and I was willing to pay for the fun. It was a tiny lottery ticked that like would pay a tiny profit.

But now that has changed and like in a casino the house will win and I don't have the fiat to pour into the game like I was so this is probably a good thing for me. However, while I was addicted to the game just 2 days ago I'm going cold turkey. I have 4 potions left and don't feel like wasting them now because we seem to be in a period where the rewards cards stopped coming in the quests.

When they roll out more and I have a decent chance of getting them on my chests then I will go back to quests. I will probably still play for 1 chest at the end of my bronze quest but I don't feel like pissing away my remaining charges when I know I'm going to lose. Hopefully they will be profitable to open in the near future.

As far as gameplay the admin crashed me into a brick wall. The game is no longer fun for me and I feel like they derailed the current tidal wave of growth. But again my assumption is that it is ultimately good for the game but right now it will be a lose for the investors and the game will get lost in the crowd.

The decision is probably the right one but I imagine newbs will drop off. I'm an addict so I right now I need to conserve my quest drugs and take a little maintenance dose every once in awhile. Again, prob good for me personally because I was spending too much time of the game.
