I think a lot has to do with what was happening before the pandemic. People have been fearing a great change to the economy and how it was going to run but it was barely incremental. Then when covid came, "poof". Remember, retail was changing and there was the Amazonation of things. The gig economy was evolving and workers where starting to move towards these full time with the benefits of part time workers. Housing was entering an unsustainable era again. Lots of things were beginning to happen but covid forced a shift and a realization among workers. It will be interesting to see how things play out but it feels like the system in general is on its last legs.
