One of the things I like to write about is alternative ways to make hive. Hive can be a lonely place for beginners and it takes time to find your tribe and then your voice.
Blogging and engaging are the traditional paths on hive been there are several other ways to earn and have fun. Best part is you can earn by yourself without a single vote.
The path to success is slow that way but should definitely be a part of your well-balanced hive diet. Especially if you are struggling to get your footing.
So today I want to talk about my path with Rising Star Game. It's an actual Free Play To Earn game built on hive. It costs nothing to start.
I knew about @risingstargame the day it started but when I logged in I had no idea what to do and tutorials were non-existent at the time. They are still few and far between so it's a lot of trial and error for me.
I revisited the game on the day that Splinterlands started the SPS airdrop so it hasn't been that long for me. I wanted to play because it seemed like the next logical step for those that had missed out on the early days of Splinterlands. I figured these were the early days of Rising Star.
Now, there are obvious differences between the two games and their growth, but free was free and all I had to do was press a button.
In Rising Star game you do "Missions" to earn starbits. That is all you need to do start earning starbits. When you start doing more missions and accumulating more starbits more options reveal themselves to you. You start learning about the NFTS and different facets of game play. But not a lot.
What I mean is that I just kept doing missions until a roadblock would come up where I would need to reinvest some of my free starbits for a cheap card necessary to do different missions. That was the jist of it but I missed a lot along the way.
This means that I play with no strategy and probably less efficiently than most other players. But I'm learning now that I see I could leveling up and earning more faster.
But the point of the post is to prove the hive grind works. As you can see from the image above, yesterday I finished my 1500th mission! That's a lot and I didnt even know that was a benchmark of some kind. I mostly play Local Mini Support missions which take 5 hours to complete. I start these before I go to bed.
There are missions which only take 5 minutes so you can see if I wanted to complete more missions I would chose the 5 hour one lol. But I didn't know nor did I care. (I do now though)
My goal was to get to level 75 in order to do the Band Auditions mission which is the last mission in the Local Gig Circuit. It was just leveling up for me but not considering my earnings or my growth. (A clear strategy mistake)
But again not really the point of the post. Instead look at my starbit earnings in the photo above. Over 500,000 of them through inefficient grinding. On the Hive Engine Marketplace I could sell them for over 150 Hive! To me all of the sudden this makes Rising Star a way to earn.
I only wrapped 70 hive yesterday for pHive on Polycub so 150 Hive excites me. I'm not selling the starbits because I want to accumulate 1,000,000 starbits to be eligible for the special Millionaire Mission that yields 10,000 starbits each day. That's about 3 hive a day and that is meaningful to me.
I need to change my strategy and learn to earn from my liquid starbits in hopes to not have to wait another 6ish months to get to a million but this whole exercise prove to me that the Hive grind is worth it. I know there are a lot of people out there who would love to have a surprise 150 hive laying around so if you are one of them, get started for free in Rising Star Game
