Plans! Plans!! Plans!!!
Are there any days in our lives that we don't plan for every activity including work, moments, gatherings, occasions, and holidays?
Plans function as the roadmap for our lives, providing direction, purpose, and a substructure for fulfilling our goals. They surround short-term objectives and long-term aspirations, therefore, they serve not only as guides but also as adaptable frameworks that unwind with us as we steer the intricacies of our lives.
Even this post that I am drafting right now in the comfort of my room is a plan too! The prompt gave me a go-ahead and here I am spewing my thoughts relating to my plans for this holiday.
In essence, plans are not just about reaching specific destinations; they are about the journey, challenges, and development that occur along the way.
These are
my plans forthis holiday;
My plans for this month have been hatched already because I had made plans for it since September this year. My plans are in motion but still working towards the bigger plan early next month.
I have a wedding to attend in January 2024 and it would have not been a serious arrangement, perhaps a plan, if I weren't the maid of honor. The universe knows how I have tried to escape this particular role whenever my friends plan their marriage.
I always come up with excuses or I disappear without official notice and then request for just the simple usual asoebi. In case you don't understand the term “asoebi” read here to comprehend. T for Thanks!
It's so expensive to be a maid of honor!
Freaking expensive guys!! I'm so teary right now!
I was indeed glad when I heard my family's closest friend is getting married, yes! He is about to be a husband lol! I'm happy for him and I am anticipating to be there for his celebration.
I had it in mind that I would get the Aso-ebi fabric so I could start sewing my clothes not until the news reached me earlier this November that I am not getting the fabric for Aso-ebi that I am getting the fabric for the maid of honor “the principle bridesmaid".
All hell broke loose!...omg!!!
I was like “Lord, let this cup pass me by!!” 🙋🏻 🙇🏻♀ Lord, please!!!
Not in this situation of Nigeria's economy that I will be a maid of honor, after all my attempts to keep escaping this role!?!? This came too late because I wasn't told earlier about this role not that I wasn't aware of the union, I was aware but at that phase, he had just introduced me to her and that was around July this year.
Well, it's cool to be a bridesmaid but at whose expense?
My budget has been exceeded guys, at this point I am soliciting contributions hahaha...
No! This isn't funny! Not at all!
I have spent $130, this is my precise and current expenses for the bridesmaid role and I am considering more miscellaneous expenses that would round up almost $200.
I'm not even thinking right now to break it down because I have a mental note of its breakdown already and it's a burden to me plus additional petty stress here and there.
I am calculating the bills for lodging because the location is in the east precisely Anambra State so most definitely I am traveling plus travel fares. I will be spending a few days preparing for the final ceremony.
I'm hooked on this! I'm organizing this bridal shower that will be happening a day before the wedding and I am also planning for my studies too! I have gone to the market to get the stuff I need and yet still considering to get more stuff, specifically jewelry, a fascinator, and the rest remaining on my list.
This is how I am spending my Christmas and there's no way else I intend to spend it because all expenses that would have been allocated for this season's merriment have gone to the role that I was assigned to.
