Que tal, Hivers. Han pasado muchas semanas que han sido emocionantes, realmente en lo personal me encantaron las tres rondas pasadas, llenas de grandes artistas y músicos maravillosos. Para estas semanas próximas, empezando por la de hoy, quiero realizar tres cover para bajo eléctrico de un género que a nivel de producción y ejecución es bastante complejo y que está totalmente fuera de mi zona de confort en lo que se refiere a estilos para tocar y he elegido un proyecto específico de salsa que trae para nosotros el músico Norberto Vélez que lleva por nombre “Live Session Desde la Loma” un proyecto bastante maravilloso y que he elegido para estas próximas tres rondas. El primer tema que traigo esta semana para el festival es del gran maestro de la salsa “Ismael Rivera” y está compuesto para él por “Catalino Curet Alonso” quien resalta la belleza dela raza negra que tanto dolor ha sufrido históricamente y que está presentado en vivo de la voz de su sobrino “Moncho Rivera” el heredero de su maravillosa voz. En esta ocasión les traigo este cover que a pesar de ser el baby bass el apropiado para tocar la salsa, pude realizarlo con mi bajo eléctrico buscando la ecualización más cercana al sonido del baby que tiene ese sonido característico para la salsa. Realmente ha sido un reto lograr aprender este tema para traerlo al festival, espero les guste.

Howdy, Hivers. It's been many exciting weeks, personally I really loved the last three rounds, full of great artists and wonderful musicians. For these next weeks, starting with today's, I want to perform three covers for electric bass of a genre that in terms of production and execution is quite complex and that is totally out of my comfort zone in terms of styles to play and I have chosen a specific salsa project that brings for us the musician Norberto Velez which is called "Live Session Desde la Loma" a quite wonderful project and that I have chosen for these next three rounds. The first song I bring this week for the festival is by the great salsa master "Ismael Rivera" and is composed for him by "Catalino Curet Alonso" who highlights the beauty of the black race that has suffered so much pain historically and is presented live in the voice of his nephew "Moncho Rivera" the heir of his wonderful voice. On this occasion I bring you this cover that despite being the baby bass the appropriate one to play salsa, I could make it with my electric bass looking for the closest equalization to the sound of the baby that has that characteristic sound for salsa. It has really been a challenge to learn this song to bring it to the festival, I hope you like it.
