The city of Pietermaritzburg, KZN, South Africa is in shambles. The public coffers are empty thanks to chronic corruption; the public servants working in service delivery are fed up and take to striking frequently; rubbish is left out on the streets; and there seem to be no solution in sight. There is certainly no money for solutions. So what the hell do we do in these situations when the problems seem so huge, so pervasive, so widespread? What possible solutions could remedy such a ginormous balls-up?
