Blue sugar, also called ghost sugar, is produced from almonds grown in the region. Almond sugar is a geographically marked product and its blue color gives a natural dye obtained from Lahore tree.

Almond candies prepared with this dye have a pale blue color.
Some vendors also have darker blue and bright colored sugars, but it is worth mentioning that they use food coloring.
