The minute I said "yes I do"
Still remains the happiest
Yet overcoming moment in my journey
Maybe because my ears were jam packed
With the roses laid on the bed of marriage
Or a heart was given in order to follow this page
The first year was like a questionnaire
Waxed on the surface of air
To deliver answers to;
"Why are you this
Why are you that",
But just because I want peace
I had to shut my eyes blind like a bat
I never knew all the roses I had in my ears
We're choked with thorns
I never knew the smiles he gave without hesitation
Was just like a friction,
A perfect monologue his cheekbones acts
Whenever he wants to do away with distress
His punches are like sumptuous meals
Always having good aroma,
His slaps are like quality dress
In which he selects without hesitation for my face,
While his kicks are like abortion pills
Which has ejected a lot of zygotes
Albeit, Mama said; my body belongs to my husband,
Maybe that's why he turned all my parts to a band,
Drumming, dancing, singing
Well, only him understands.
Alas, I'll continue to wear a beautiful smile,
All because this is the river I've vowed to bath for life
So, if it is filled with pains and distress
I'll forever prefer to be on my beautiful bruises.
