Yeah I just realised I posted this without much information.
Well with this song I like how it starts with hammering on that droning E minor , when it starts it goes from a G chord down to the E minor and that note is held when I sing it.
-----------------------G-------------------------------------Em
So for example "I was born on this mountain a long time agoooo...
I like the way it feels to hold that part of the Em and sing over it.
Also just the pictures old Appalachian folk songs like this paint in the minds eye is appealing to me . I see images in my mind of Smokey mountain's , moonshine stills , 6 string pickers , fiddle players and banjo strummers.
Its a song I have known for a while but never played capoed on the 4th fret , this morning I started playing it when I woke up , I'm not sure why .Recently I have felt compelled to re visit old songs and I thought I would take a shot at recording this one.
Having videos of these songs gives me something to reflect on and helps me build sets for performing in public , I guess that's also a big reason for making these videos :)
