Hey Folks

Today I'm going to take you guys on a little stroll through some picturesque fishing villages here on Scotland's East Coast.First a little bit history of the area.

We start out the video above walking down towards the sea in the village of Crail.

As we head down to the seafront we pass this old "Doocot" or Dovecot which was originally built in the mid 1500s to house pigeons.

Down by the sea I try to get some shots of the waves splashing against this stair set.

An information board telling us about a old mill that was in operation here for 700 years.

Most of the buildings in this area are 17th and 18th centaury like this old watch house.

This beautiful watchtower is on the backwall of someone's private estate. It must be amazing to watch the sunset from up there.

A very old sundial overlooks Crail Harbour.

Trying to time another shot of the waves crashing against the wall and rolling back.

As we walk down into the harbour we pass many beautiful little cottages some of which are available for short holidays.

This area is renowned for its seafoods.

I love taking shots of these old lobster pots in beautiful little fishing villages like these.

These picturesque shots of Crail Harbour make me want to take up painting.

Old fisherman's houses and cobblestone streets, not much has changed here in 300 years.

This area has a few beautiful guest houses over looking the harbour.

An ideal place for a quiet little getaway.

Heading up onto Crail mainstreet.

A masonic seal on one of the oldest buildings in the street.

This is a pottery workshop.

Wandering past the old buildings and storefronts of Crail High-street.

I decided to nip into the Golf Hotel for a pint of Lager and Lime.

This bar is below street level and kind of has the feel of an old 17th centaury smugglers Inn.

Just next to the Golf Hotel there is small museum which was closed at the time I passed it.Hopefully next time I go there the museum will be open.The area has alot of history and I would love to check out the museum someday.

A few more shots of the old buildings in Crail as we get ready to leave this area and head along the coast to the neighbouring town of Anstruther

I love the look of this house and I love its surroundings.

While I was taking pictures of the church and graveyard I saw this red balloon blowing around the headstones. It made me think of Stephen Kings IT movies and I thought of Pennywise the clown lurking in a nearby sewer.

I managed to get footage of the balloon blowing out to sea

The Church and Graveyard here have history dating back to the 9th century A.D

This is said to be what remains of the stone coffin of St Adrian. According to legend this stone coffin carried the Saints body from the Isle of May after he was murdered by Vikings around 870 ad.

Anstruthers famous Sea shell house. The house was built in the early 1690s and the sea shells were originally added in 1840 by a local eccentric artist named Alex Batchelor.

This river flows passed the churchyard out to sea.

Down by the Anstruther harbour we have one of Scotland's most highly rated Fish and Chip Shops.

This is also where the Scottish Fisheries Museum is located , another local tourist attraction I have yet to visit.

The Ship Tavern is the local Pub for many of the local Sailors.

Some shots of the harbour .The wind was howling and the masts of the boats were whistling as I took these shots.

Time to grab some Fish and Chips from the Fish Bar

They also have some unique Halloween Ice cream flavours, vampire fangs and Eye scream. I should have tried some but it was freezing cold and the winds were howling around the harbour.

I had enough of the extreme winds down by the harbourside and decided just to chill out in the car and eat my fish and chips while listening to Classic Fm :)
