Hi Everyone
Ah bonnie Glen Clova, one of my favourite places in all of Scotland.

Clova is one of the "Glens of Angus" this is the area where the Scottish highland scenery really begins. The area lies in the foothills of the Cairngorm mountain range.

Its almost exactly a 2 hour drive from my front door northwards into increasingly rugged terrain and winding country roads until we end up at the Glen Clova Hotel, the last bastion of civilisation for many miles.
The furthest we can drive is a tiny country road leading a few more miles from the Clova Hotel into Glen Doll then from there its vast expanse's of wild Mountain scenery until you reach the area of Inverness in the heart of the Scottish Highlands.

I've been coming to this area regularly my whole life from around the time I was about 5 years old. My extended family of cousins and uncles would rent the small cabin in the woods you see in these photos. These old huts are known as "Bothies" they offer basic shelter for mountain climbers and can be found all over the Scottish countryside.

These photographs were taken in the Summer of 2019 ,before the world shut down and all of the mountain bothies were locked up due to covid regulations. The Clova Hotel has also had its doors closed for most of the pandemic.

Now that the world has opened back up Im thinking about a trip into Clova pretty soon to try and get some snowy mountain photography.

Every time I return to this area of intense natural beauty and smell the scent of pine trees, camp fire smoke and fresh Scottish mountain air my mind is instantly cast back to those days of childhood innocence and wonder. To a time before internet ,social conditioning and covid regulations, to a time when things were simpler and one of the greatest joys was getting out into the rugged Scottish Wilderness :)

I have quite alot more to say about the area and many more photographs but ill save that for a longer post in the haveyoubeenthere community.
Stay tuned for tales of wonder and Witchcraft :)
