2 years ago I met a guy he went by the name of dancing tree druid, who offered nature healing retreats, for people who had been traumatised by the modern technicological world. He lived on the side of a hill on the beautiful island of corfu in Greece with many fruit, nut, olive and native trees. I visited his place a few times to interview him about nature healing but I could not enter his plot with a mobile phone. That also meant he does not own one himself and connects to the outside world only with his laptop and ethernet cable.

My mobile phone is the first thing I really engage with when I wake up in the morning and I've tried to get out of this habit, to even check the time because I will see an array of distracting notifications, some of these can be emails that you wish you had not received,or a hate comment from some social media post things that can immediately bring us down before even properly starting the day.

So I do agree that an integral part to nature healing is to reduce the amount of technology used and the timing when it is used. Although for the dancing tree druids reasoning was not only the negative psychological effects of mobiles but the physical effects caused being around EMFs. Most of us are fully aware of EMAs and most people simply do not care. Our devices are so useful to us, we are willing to risk our health because its not something that seems immediate.

However on a more subtle level im more aware than ever that these mobile phones are irritating me aswell as diminishing my creativity and imagination. My eyes feel over worked and my body and posture is changing. And as much as I find my phone so incredibly useful, I mean its more than that, its my whole digital profile. Not too long ago I thought I left my phone in a taxi and I almost felt like I was going to faint. Thankfully I found it in my bag of course.... no I was not drunk but probably a little tired.

Now spring is finally here after one of the coldest winters in some time, Its getting easier to put the phoen down and finally reconnect with nature. For me, there is nothing more incredible than spring time, maybe because its the season im born it but also because of the dramatic change, the colors the light the flowers, and flowers are so fleeting and magical. They remind me how beautiful and perfect mother nature.

And then there's a reminder of my life as human how much time we have but how little time we actually use it for something worthwhile. Time being eaten away by nonsense and fake news, social media banter or just pure trash. To have access to technology but use if for self validating meaningless nonsense, feels like a crime. That being a human itself and all that is needed to run our bodies every cell that works to keep us functioning and im sat here on the couch monging out at a back-lit device somehow seems so out of balance.

Whether our consciousness mind realizes it or not, we need nature healing, go outside, move your body touch the earth and embrace the new spring sun.
