A joyous trip down memory lane for me. My husband and Iater our sons were homesteaders long before the term was used and it was cool to do so. I think most of us were born with the instinct to homestead just that some folks have to dig deeper to find it. Once found it just grows and it does change you forever. It is awesome to find that you can be self-suficient where ever you may land in life. What it really boils down to is that you are utimately responsible for your own survival. No one else is going to step up to the plate and recue you. The satisfaction that you feel when you know that you can be sucessful is something that can't be explained to those that have not felt it.
