Got these eggs a month or so ago & was worried they might have been duds. What’s funny is I had them sitting in my living room in a jar & wasn’t even checking them regularly. Today was the first day I decided to put this egg in the garden & when I reached in the tube I saw a half dozen or so of these probably freshly hatched today! What great lucky timing.
Hopefully these alpha predators will take care of the thrips sucking on my leaf juice & everything else they see. They start hunting & fighting each other within minutes of outside life. Pretty cool to see, I took some video earlier I will post later on. They are fascinating little carnivore helpers.
This is Steve & Larry, two of the most adventurous so far. They best be careful, there are house spiders lurking around the perimeter of the garden that would love to eat them!
Will they grow fast? Will they eat the thrips? Will they eat each other? Will they all be spider food? Will I take Steve with me to my local grocery store when he gets a little bigger? Only time will tell..........
