I crept out of bed this morning to go nurse the baby and head out for my morning run. In order to keep making this work, it must occur sometime between 4-6 a.m. But I keep on. The twilight hours for this introverted soul are SO SACRED! It is where I meet God, work through my deep thoughts and try to best balance those emotions. In my twenties, I ran over forty full marathons, a few ultras, a few triathlons and several hundred smaller (half marathon and under) races. I regret no single step or mile. Ever. It has helped me become who I am.

My feet have carried me through hard times, two pregnancies, financial loss, loss of parents, marriage and divorce and marriage and moves and military life. Misplaced all the medals and race bibs in all that moving around.

But in all he chaos and strain, God and running have always been my two constants and dependable quiet places.

How about you? Any fellow runners, thinkers and struggling introverts?!
