Across the world many small animals are endangered, due to hunting and other human activities. Had to buy this little Cane Rat which was about to be butcher,
from a local hunter at the market together with its cage. Will send it back to the wild after, when I next visit hometown. It has a chance there and will die in a natural aspect.
