Having a monarchy system in a country is neither a good thing nor a bad thing. This is because the monarchy system has both advantages and disadvantages.

But some of the disadvantages are;

1. Since it's a system of Government that can only be ruled by people who are related by blood, the people do not really have a say in who rules or not. Thus, defeating the major purpose of democracy.

2. In countries we're the monarchy system and democracy exist side by side, the monarch system always has more power and authority thereby making the Democratic system that exists alongside it a mere figure-ground

3. In a monarch system, the king/queen cannot be impeached or removed from power because he/she did not come into power through a political process.

Some of the advantages also are;

1. Given the unlimited period of time of leadership (a king practically hands over only at death) monarchs can do better in terms of development and leadership.

2. The monarchy system reduces the irregularities that are associated with political system and their electoral processes
