I felt like every teacher had their own completely different approach and that none of them really got the whole idea across in there classes. Which is for the most part still very true. Gestures mean different things to different types of artists so its hard to lock down. The best advice I was given is to try to find your own way gestures serve you.
Go out there and find a teacher's approach that attracts you the most. Look at the first AnatoMonday post for the resources I like most to teach these sorts of things.
Heres some gestures I did over the weekend. Over all, I like about 10% of them which is about average for me .
