My old iPhone SE 2nd generation

Nowadays our smartphone is an extension of ourselves that makes our lives more comfortable as it is the means that allows us to communicate with our loved ones no matter how far away they are, it allows us to work from the device avoiding unnecessary travel or it is our map when we visit an unknown city.

With my iPhone SE I have had great experiences, mainly photographic, being able to immortalise incredible places during my leisure and work trips.

However, since July the battery started to heat up when I used it to make calls, the calls were continually cut off and it got to the point where I could no longer work. So, when the iPhone SE died, it was time to request a new phone from my bosses last week.

My new iPhone 13

As I indicated in the previous paragraphs, my old iPhone SE business phone broke down and after a conversation with my bosses we opted to call the company that manages our phone lines and they offered us a renewal plan with an iPhone 13 at a very competitive price.

He suspected that the price drop and the promotion we received was due to the fact that that same day the new iPhone 15 had been released and that the iPhone 12 in countries such as Spain and France was banned from sale for exceeding the levels of tradition permissible for this type of device as you can see in the following news item.

Therefore, last Thursday I went with my boss to the closest shop to our office of the mobile operator that manages our phone lines.

Inside the shop there were many new models of phones and accessories that I was browsing while we were waiting to be attended to give us the phone that we had purchased through the web for companies.

Once we had been dealt with and the details to register the device in the company name, I was given the phone in an eye-catching company bag actively promoting Orange's TV package which includes Spanish league football.

Unboxing

Once we arrived at the office, I proceeded to take the box of the new iPhone 13 out of the bag. The design of the box is a bit poor compared to previous iPhone designs which were more colourful.

Subsequently, I opened the box by the back seal which shows that the iPhone is new and has not been opened before. At this point I had my pulse racing at 1000 from the excitement of finally getting a new phone after a month of torture due to the malfunctioning of the previous device.

Once the top of the box was removed I found my new iPhone 13 for the first time, which features a dual camera and I was dazzled by how it shone to the point of seeing the ceiling of the office reflected on the phone. This is a detail that Apple really takes care of.

Next, with baby-like care, I turned the phone over and proceeded to remove the paper screen protector.

Wow. How reflective the screen was. So the first thing that crossed my mind is that I should buy a good protector and case for this phone to keep it in the best possible condition.

Big iPhone advantage

One of the things the company and I like about working with the iPhone is the ability to transfer information from an old iPhone to the new iPhone.

Just turn on the new phone and bring it close to the old device, and on both devices we confirm that we want to sync them to move all the information and settings from one device to the other.

An iPhone bug

An iPhone or Apple mistake is the poor material that is currently incorporated with the phones, as it is limited to inserting the pick to remove the SIM and a single USB cable without the terminal that plugs into the wall.

In the old days, they would incorporate a headset and the wall plug, which is the least you'd expect when you're spending over 750 Euros for a phone.

I also opted to buy a protector for the two lenses of the camera. When I discovered HIVE I started to take more and more photos every day and I know that to have a good post it is better to have good photos and with a scratched lens the photos would suffer.

Once I had made all these purchases and especially the protection of the camera lenses I had to test the camera, so I photographed a statue of Woody Allen in the vicinity of the shop. And as you can see the camera with the protector has not lost any image quality.

Experience after a few days

The iPhone 13 has a number of advantages over my previous iPhone SE that I would like to highlight.

5G network

The iPhone 13 compared to my previous device supports 5G networks. I notice a big positive difference when making video calls or when watching web content such as videos or streaming media.

Dual 12 Megapixel camera.

12 Megapixels is not much these days. There are phones with a higher number of Megapixels. However, I see great photo quality with both the standard lens.

As well as with the wide-angle lens.

I think the image stabiliser is a big step up from previous iPhone versions.

Battery life

On other iPhones I've used before, the battery lasted a day at most with moderate use. On the new iPhone 13 I notice a longer battery life than previous versions, I suspect the A15 Bionic Chip allows for better resource management than its predecessors allowing for better performance.

Mi iPhone SE 2º generación

Hoy en día nuestro smartphone es una prolongación de nosotros mismos que nos hace la vida más cómoda al ser el medio que nos permite comunicarnos con nuestros seres queridos por muy lejos que estén, nos permiten trabajar desde el dispositivo evitando innecesarios desplazamientos o es nuestro mapa cuando visitamos una ciudad desconocida.

Con mi iPhone SE he tenido gratas experiencias, principalmente fotográficas, pudiendo inmortalizar lugares increíbles durante mis viajes de placer y de trabajo.

Sin embargo, desde el mes de julio empezó a calentarse la batería cuando lo empleaba para hacer llamadas, se cortaban las llamadas continuamente y llego el momento que no me permitía trabajar. Por tanto, muerto el iPhone SE fue el momento de solicitar un nuevo teléfono a mis jefes la semana pasada.

Mi nuevo iPhone 13

Como les indicaba en los párrafos anteriores, mi antiguo teléfono de empresa iPhone SE se estropeó y tras una conversación con mis jefes optamos por llamar a la compañía que gestiona nuestras líneas telefónicas y nos ofrecieron un plan de renovación con un iPhone 13 a un precio muy competitivo.

Sospechó que la bajada de precio y la promoción que recibimos fue debido a que ese mismo día había salido al mercado el nuevo iPhone 15 y a que el iPhone 12 en países como España y Francia se prohibió su venta por superar los niveles de tradición permisibles para este tipo de dispositivos como podéis ver en la siguiente noticia.

Por tanto, el pasado jueves me desplace junto con mi jefe a la tienda más cercana a nuestra oficina del operador móvil que gestiona nuestras líneas telefónicas.

Dentro de la tienda había multitud de nuevos modelos de teléfonos y accesorios que estuve curioseando mientras esperábamos a que nos atendiesen para darnos el teléfono que habíamos adquirido a través de la web para empresas.

Una vez atendidos y nos gestionaron los datos para dar de alta al dispositivo a nombre de la empresa, me proporcionaron el teléfono en una bolsa llamativa de la compañía que promocionaba activamente el paquete televisivo de Orange que incluye el futbol de la liga española.

Desempaquetado

Una vez, llegamos a la oficina, procedí a sacar de la bolsa la caja del nuevo iPhone 13. En el que el diseño de la caja es un poco pobre respecto a otros diseños anteriores de iPhone que eran más coloridos.

Posteriormente, abrí la caja por el precinto trasero que demuestra que el iPhone es nuevo y que no ha sido abierto anteriormente. En ese momento tenía las pulsaciones a 1000 por la emoción de estrenar por fin un nuevo teléfono después de un mes de tortura por el mal funcionamiento del dispositivo anterior.

Una vez quitada la parte superior de la caja me encontré por primera vez con mi nuevo iPhone 13, el cual presenta una doble cámara y me deslumbro como relucía hasta el punto de verse el techo de la oficina reflejado sobre el teléfono. Este detalle sí que los cuida muy bien Apple.

A continuación, con cuidado como si fuese un bebe, le di la vuelta al teléfono y procedí a quitarle el protector de papel de la pantalla.

Wow. Como reflejaba la pantalla. Por lo que lo primero que me paso por la cabeza es que debería comprar un buen protector y carcasa para este teléfono para mantenerlo en las mejores condiciones posibles.

Gran ventaja de iPhone

Una de las cuestiones por las que en la empresa y a mí nos gusta trabajar con iPhone es por la posibilidad de transferir la información de un antiguo iPhone al iPhone nuevo.

Basta con encender el nuevo teléfono y acercarlo al antiguo dispositivo para que en ambos dispositivos confirmemos que queremos sincronizarlos para pasar toda la información y configuración de un dispositivo a otro.

Un error de iPhone

Un error de iPhone o Apple es el pobre material que incorporan actualmente con los teléfonos, ya que se limita a introducir la púa para poder quitar la SIM y un único cable USB sin el terminal que se enchufa a la pared.

Antiguamente, incorporaban unos auriculares y el enchufe de la pared, que es lo mínimo que uno espera cuando está gastándose más de 750 euros por un teléfono.

Vamos a proteger el iPhone 13

Una vez pasada toda la información al nuevo dispositivo, cuando termine mi jornada laboral antes de irme a casa fui a una popular tienda de repuestos telefónicos de la ciudad de Oviedo.

En ella estuve mirando distintas carcasas, aunque tras mirar varias al final me decidí por una carcasa sobria, de color transparente.

Adicionalmente, para proteger la pantalla opté por invertir un poco más de dinero que en la carcasa y opté por poner un cristal de gran dureza, que apenas perdiese brillo la pantalla y a su vez para conseguir que sea más duradero es un cristal de nueva tecnología que es flexible.

Y también, opté por comprar un protector para las dos lentes de la cámara de fotos. Al descubrir HIVE empecé a sacar cada día más fotos y sé que para tener buenos post es mejor tener buenas fotos y con una lente rallada las fotos se resentirían.

Una vez realizadas todas, estas compras y sobre todo la protección de las lentes de las cámaras había que probar la cámara de fotos, por lo que fotografíe una estatua de Woody Allen que hay en las proximidades de la tienda. Y como pueden ver la cámara con el protector no ha perdido calidad de imagen.

Experiencia tras unos días

El iPhone 13 respecto a mi anterior iPhone SE presenta una serie de ventajas que me gustaría resaltar.

Red 5G

El iPhone 13 respecto a mi anterior dispositivo soporta redes 5G. Noto una gran diferencia positiva cuando hago llamadas con video o cuando veo contenido web como videos o reproducciones en streaming.

Doble cámara de 12 Megapixeles.

12 Megapixeles no son mucho hoy en día. Hay teléfonos con mayor número de Megapixeles. Sin embargo, veo una gran calidad fotográfica tanto con la lente estándar.

Como con la lente de gran angular.

Creo que en el estabilizador de imagen han dado un gran salto respecto a versiones anteriores de iPhone.

Duración de la batería

En otros iPhone que estrené la batería incluso nueva duraba un día como mucho con un uso moderado. En el nuevo iPhone 13 observo una mayor durabilidad de la batería respecto a versiones anteriores, sospecho que Chip A15 Bionic permite una mejor gestión de recursos que sus predecesores que permiten un mejor rendimiento.
