Hi,
I love the sunflower fields that I can visit during the summer months in the countryside of Castilla León and specifically in the outskirts of the city of Valladolid.
Their yellow colour and green stalks match the blue skies that are usually present in summer in this part of Spain.
Its alignment in the fields is perfect, following a pattern of distances between plants resulting from machine cultivation. This is enriched by the fact that the plant's flowers are all arranged in the same way, seeking a greater collection of sunlight.
However, the fascinating thing about sunflowers is not only this synchronisation, but the arrangement of their seeds within the flower also follows a very well-defined pattern in order to maximise the number of seeds inside.
