Hi,
Today I visited the science museum in the city of Valladolid on the occasion of an exhibition of Lego constructions set in Start Wars which is a real marvel and which I will tell you about soon and of which I also have some reflections for an upcoming contest of reflections.
However, before entering the Lego Star Wars exhibition hall, this Foucault pendulum caught my attention.
What is the Foucault pendulum?
It is a spherical pendulum that can swing freely in any vertical plane and is capable of swinging for a long time. It is used to demonstrate the rotation of the Earth and is named after its inventor's surname.
As far as the reflection contest is concerned, you can see that on the metal sphere of the pendulum you can see the reflections of the pendulum's surroundings.
The best image I could get with the pendulum moving is this image in which you can see a reflection of the terrestrial map represented on the pendulum's floor.
