I had a family portrait session (which I don't do very often) at the Bonneville Salt Flats this last summer that started out as an anniversary shoot with a lady and her husband after she reached out on a Facebook group that someone had tagged me in. She was specifically looking for someone to take portraits under the starry sky at the salt flats. This is right up my alley.

As the shoot got closer, she inquired if it would be ok if her nieces joined in the shoot, she just wanted a couple quick photos of them to update their GoFundMe page. Apparently these 3 teen girls had lost their father and mother within a year of each other to tragic accidents, a heart-wrenching situation to say the least. I was absolutely ok including them in the shoot, and what intended to be a couple shots turned into several hours of shooting. Normally I wouldn't do this but my client said the girls absolutely just lit up when they found out they'd be doing a photo shoot at the salt flats with the stars, so we went with it.

Here are a handful of my favorite images from the session.
