Sydney City offers up blue sky and corner buildings : June 16 2026
A different day lining up. Found a new orchid flowering on our deck - second time flowering despite the neglect showing on the tops of the leaves. Maybe got thirsty
There is a reason orchids are the most diverse flowers. They cope with some abuse
Close up - flower smaller than a US penny or half a baby fingernail
Well the ladies tresses are a lot happier in their shady spot - second time flowering this year. Another spike on the way too
Headed into Sydney City for lunch with a friend. Walk from the City up Oxford Street - Museum Station on the way. Not been on the Circular Line in years. Might do this loop next time
A challenging photo against the light at the top of Commonwealth Street - ANZAC memorial and Sky Tower
A retro look in a mod colour - Stellar Hotel. Maybe a curved corner theme day
Curves on this old Oxfrod Street pub - still going
Curved frontage here - now a private hotel. There were windows open above
Shot across the square from where we had lunch - blue sky - a few people back and forth - dogs like playing in the water
We had a good lunch and a wide-ranging chat all over what is going on. Good was mediocre but it fitted the daily special model. I did not have to cook - then or for dinner
Walked down to catch the train at Central Station. Noticed this big skyscraper being built behind the station. Had not passed the height of the clocktower last walk this way - two months ago
Stopped at shops on the way home. A few things needed
No dinner needed as my wife had lunch in the office and I ate out
