Further down Smith's Creek Track : My Actifit Report Card: January 7 2022
Another rainy day. I am sure over the La Nina summer though we are better off than El Nino summers. Did need to go to shops for a few gluten free things I cannot get in Aldi. With rain showers imminent I drive and walk with umbrella and rain jacket. Was spitting a bit - walk when it is good and shop later
Went to Terrey Hills side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP and walked Smith's Creek track. Not walked the whole of it to date. Thought I might find midge orchids. Always plenty to enjoy - banksia
Rice flower
Was not expecting these to be flowering still
Pea flower
Was a long walk to find the first orchid after I spied a bonnet orchid leaf on the other side of the track. Variegated hyacinth orchid
Christmas bells
Spider grevillea is always a favourite
Pink wax flowers were also a surprise this far into the season - cooler weather does that is my guess
Did find a few more dipodium variegatum - faded colour suggests their season is soon over
Did find one bonnet orchid on the way out to make a two orchid day.
Close up of the column
Did find this bonnet orchid right at the start of the fire trail. It was humid and sweaty. I walked the last km without a shirt. Good that it did not rain.
Nice track to walk though short of orchids. Will aim to walk once a month as the seasons flow
Did the shopping. Lots of fresh vege shelves empty as the new isolation rule kicks in with rising cases.
My wife's son cooked Singapore Chilli Crab - it was just fab. We smashed some good wine. Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon 2000 and Dalwhinnie 2003 Moonambel Shiraz.
Trade action: Sold GLEN.L
Fixed my IT problem - can soon sell my own products.
