This time with a new Steem blockchain game!
As I've briefly mentioned before, I'm learning to draw. I would LOVE to spend all day on this. I really like it. ... but... I simply ain't got the time. I am trying to draw a little (20 minutes to an hour) every night (after all my other stuff is done). To complete one image takes me at least a week at this rate as I'm generally working on several images at a time. I find I get stuck and just stare and at that point need to try something else. Next up... if I can finish her, is the Silvershield Assassin from @Splinterlands... keep on the lookout!
For now...
So... I signed up for this game way before release. They had me at the name.😏 Finally! The day came to play! I logged in and learned my first step was to create a 'clan name'. A last name or surname that all my players would have in common. I spent entirely too much time looking up real Irish surnames and making up this one: McKitterick. I like it, it feels Irish, which is what I was going for.
I totally assumed I'd get to choose what my player (at least the first one) looked like. I was not correct. 🤣 While you DO get to choose the type of player you start with (and if they are male or female), you don't get to pick a specific character.
In my mind, my Irish lass would be a redhead with big green eyes. Turned out I got this little lady with blonde hair and hazel eyes. This is her below. They named her Imogen and I love it! (You can change names for bread if ya wanna.)

Here are some other characters you can buy, to give you an idea of the art style. I like it. Though the long necks were weird at first, they've grown on me.
And a shot of my team. Currently, I'm taking sweet Lancelot out on quests. I'm a little worried about letting Osmond go anywhere by himself... he doesn't look as 'with it' as everyone else. 😉
One last screenshot of the BAKERY... but only because I swear the baker in there IS the dude from Breaking Bad! And... it's called the "Baking Bread Bakery", so I feel like I'm right...
First, I simply looked at (no tracing) and drew my little blonde lass. In the interest of brevity I'm not going to share quite as many screenshots of the process (don't worry, there will still be plenty)... and I'll be giving a little focus on the eyes.
Next, I go over my initial sketch really trying to find the right lines. As you can see, this is where the hair really finds itself.
Nose and lips CLOSE UP!! I worked pretty hard on the eyes. I kinda like how they came out. The mouth... goodness! Don't look too close. I got much too carried away with it... should have left it simple. You'll also notice the original mouth underneath... and apparently I used this layer for shading...😏
Um... not much to say about this. I have figured out easier ways to do this, so it's not taking me so long. That's nice. I'm still wondering about shadows and such... which is funny, cause I know how to do my makeup... this is basically the same thing...
Dudes. DUDES. I'm getting so much better at this! I even found the right brush to make it look like hair! ... And then I didn't save the brush... and now have NO idea which one it was. sigh There are a lot of brush/drawing options. A LOT.
In holybread the characters don't really wear jewelry. I'm assuming cause it'd just get stolen while questing or battling... but for the times we aren't doing that I decided to give Imogen something sparkly.
OH. The clothes. This was hard. The shadows. The boobs. All of it. I still don't have a feel for this part.
Nuttin' fancy. Just a little gradient fade and some flowers.
